How do you get a blog?

Of course, you could just start with a free blog. If you want to do this, I highly recommend WordPress . The only downside about using a free blog is that you don’t get your own dedicated domain name, which looks less credible.

Do I really need my own domain name?

Having a blog on your own domain name will give you more than just credibility. If your blog is part of your website and you update it regularly, that’s great for your search engine rankings, as the search engines like sites that regularly update their content. If you have a free blog that’s not on your own domain name, you won’t get that benefit.
